Outsourcing is a sub contract, to a third-party company. The choice whether to outsource or to do in-house is often demand upon attaining a lower production cost, making better use of available resources. Outsourcing became part of the business glossary during the 1980s.In short, outsourcing means contracting with another company to do a particular function on the company behalf. Many out sized companies now outsource their works like call center services, e-mail services, and payroll. These jobs are handled by individual companies that specialize in each service, and are often located overseas. At present, outsourcing takes many forms. Organizations still appoint service providers to handle different business processes, such as benefits management. But some organizations outsource whole operations. The most common forms are information technology outsourcing (ITO) and business process outsourcing (BPO). Reasons for Outsourcing: Cost Savings: By outsourcing the third party company to work you can reduce the labor cost which reduces your cost and also you can concentrate on your core business. * Improve quality. The outsourcing companies offers you 99.99% quality and also will complete the work in fast turn around time. * Operational expertise. Access to operational best practice that would be too difficult or time consuming to develop in-house. The challenges of outsourcing become especially sensitive when the work is being done in a different country.
* Capacity management. An improved method of capacity management of services and technology where the risk in providing the excess capacity is borne by the supplier.
* Tax Benefit. Countries offer tax incentives to move developed operations to counter high corporate taxes within another country.
